Students On an Alternative Route

What is SOAR?

Local students belong to a program called Students On an Alternative Route (SOAR). The SOAR program consists of students referred to Pleasant Creek from North Sanpete High School that are at risk of not graduating with the full 28 credit requirement.

Goals

The primary goal for SOAR students is to recover lost or missing credits and achieve graduation at the 24 credit requirement typical of alternative schools in the State of Utah. SOAR students use the online Edgenuity LMS platform to complete these courses using a competency-based education of passing all quizzes and tests..

Enrollment

Unfortunately, the SOAR program is not an open enrollment program; students are only accepted into the program based on the referral from guidance counselors at North Sanpete High School.

Students from outside the district seeking to attend the SOAR program will not be admitted the 2023-2024 school year due to the demand of NSSD students needing to be enrolled.

Contract

A contract is required to be signed by students, parents, and administration outlining the expectations of daily work. Failure to comply with the contract expectations will result in a meeting between the student, parent(s), and administration to discuss further options to complete an education. To view the contract, click on the button below titled "SOAR Contract."
